Tree Removal in Narragansett, Rhode Island

Tree Removal for Narragansett Homes and Coastal Properties

AllScapes provides professional tree removal in Narragansett, Rhode Island for dead, hazardous, storm-damaged and unwanted trees.

Tree problems in a coastal community are not always predictable. High winds and severe weather can damage a tree quickly, while repeated exposure can leave property owners questioning the condition of trees close to a home, driveway or neighboring property.

Narragansett also has a large number of properties that are occupied seasonally or used as second homes. When a tree problem develops, owners may need a clear assessment of what requires attention now and what can reasonably wait.

AllScapes evaluates the tree, access and surrounding property before determining the appropriate scope of work.

We are so very impressed with this company. This is the second large tree removal job that we had accomplished with them. They are great to work with very prompt and timely as as well as as professional in their overall approach to the business. The guys that do the work on cutting down, the trees are amazing. The equipment they use is top-notch and really provides them an opportunity to do the work without causing on due damage to your lawn, etc.. We would definitely use them again and would encourage everybody else in the Service area to do so. Can’t say enough good things about them

We had a large tree limb snap and it was dangling precariously by the road in front of our house. When I explained the situation to Sean, he had his crew come out the same day to take care of it. This is my 2nd time using AllScapes for tree services, and both times I've been very impressed with their knowledge of trees and the quality of their work (safety, clean up, etc). I'm especially grateful this time because they quickly addressed a potentially dangerous situation, to help keep my family and my neighbors safe. Thanks AllScapes!

I was worried about an old tree in the back yard that had become diseased and was dropping branches. It hung over the yard and the house. I asked Allscapes if they could take it down and grind the stump before a 4th of July cookout and they were able to make time for us. The guys were careful, methodical, and respectful of property. While there they trimmed some out of control hedges (they look fantastic), pulled out two dying holly bushes and ground another older stump. Oh and trimmed some dead branches from a couple trees near the road. Add a reasonable price and we were very happy with the service. Highly recommend.

A large portion of my mature Maple tree came down in my yard. Further, the remaining portion of the damaged tree also needed to be removed. Compounding the problem, there was not direct vehicle access to the tree. Allscapes Tree Service viewed my difficult situation the same day that I called determining that they could extract the tree over a 6' stockade fence via an access road. Upon receiving RI Energy's permission to use their access road, Allscapes Tree Service arrived the following day removing the downed limb as well as the tree. Start to finish, Allscapes staff and workers were 'extremely ' helpful, professional and courteous. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up my yard as well as the access road. Their attention to detail is excellent and I will definitely call them in the future!!

Tree Removal on Narragansett Properties

Narragansett’s location along the Rhode Island coast makes storm exposure an important part of tree care. Tropical systems, nor’easters and other high-wind events can break limbs, split trunks, uproot trees or expose problems that were less obvious before the weather changed.

The properties themselves create another consideration. Trees may be growing close to homes, cottages, driveways, decks, fences and neighboring lots, leaving limited room to work when removal becomes necessary.

For owners who do not live at the property year-round, there is also a practical question: does the tree require removal, pruning or monitoring before the property is left unattended?

AllScapes looks at the condition of the tree and the property around it so the recommendation fits the actual situation. We provide a full suite of tree services in Naragansett and throughout Rhode Island.

When Should a Tree Be Removed?

Visible storm damage is one reason to consider removal, but it is not the only one.

Removal may be appropriate when a tree is:

  • Dead or in severe decline
  • Split or structurally compromised
  • Uprooted or developing a significant lean
  • Damaged beyond reasonable pruning or repair
  • Creating a hazard near a home, driveway or frequently used area
  • Interfering with planned property improvements
  • No longer practical to retain in its location

A large tree does not automatically need to come down. When the condition is uncertain, Certified Arborist Services can help determine whether removal, pruning or continued monitoring is appropriate.

Coastal Weather Changes the Tree-Removal Conversation

Living near the coast means paying attention to wind and storm damage that may not occur all at once.

A major storm can create an obvious problem such as a fallen tree or broken trunk. Other damage is less dramatic. A tree may lose a major limb, develop a new lean or show damage in the canopy that deserves a closer look.

That makes the period after severe weather particularly important for Narragansett property owners.

Trees close to houses, parked vehicles, decks, walkways and neighboring properties deserve attention when their condition has changed. Owners of seasonal properties may also want questionable trees evaluated before the home is vacant for an extended period or before the next period of heavy use.

The objective is to identify the trees that require action without assuming every storm-damaged tree needs to be removed.

Storm-Damaged Tree Removal in Narragansett

After a coastal storm, the first concern is whether the damaged tree or broken sections of it create an immediate hazard.

Warning signs can include:

  • A tree that has fallen or partially uprooted
  • A new or pronounced lean
  • Split trunks
  • Large hanging branches
  • Broken sections lodged in the canopy
  • Major limbs resting on structures
  • Significant changes to the tree after high winds

AllScapes provides tree removal for storm-damaged trees on private property in Narragansett when removal is necessary.

Some trees can recover from storm damage. Others have lost enough structural integrity that they should come down. The condition of the remaining tree matters more than simply the fact that a storm occurred.

Do not approach hanging limbs, unstable trunks or partially fallen trees. If electrical lines are involved, stay clear and contact the appropriate utility provider.

Tree Removal for Seasonal and Second Homes

A tree concern is harder to keep an eye on when you are not at the property every day.

For seasonal and second-home owners in Narragansett, an evaluation can help establish whether a questionable tree needs attention before the property is vacant, whether pruning could address the concern, or whether the tree can remain and be monitored.

The site itself still determines the removal plan. A tree beside a house or deck may require a different approach from one in an open part of the property. Access can also change when neighboring homes, fences, landscaping and narrow driveways limit the available work area.

The estimate should give the owner a clear understanding of the proposed work, including cleanup and stump grinding when applicable.

Removing Trees Close to Coastal Homes

Many Narragansett properties do not provide unlimited room for tree work.

Homes, cottages and other improvements can sit relatively close to driveways, neighboring properties and outdoor areas. When a mature tree occupies that same space, removal may need to be performed in controlled sections rather than bringing the tree down as a whole.

Before deciding how to handle the tree, AllScapes considers:

  • Distance from the home and other structures
  • Driveway and equipment access
  • Neighboring property
  • Decks, patios and outdoor areas
  • Fences and landscaping
  • Utility conflicts
  • Available space for branches and trunk sections
  • Cleanup and material handling

The method used depends on what is actually present at the property.

Can the Tree Stay?

Removal is not the right answer for every damaged or troublesome tree.

A healthy tree that needs clearance from a house or has isolated dead branches may be better addressed through Tree Trimming and Pruning.

A tree with decay, storm damage or structural concerns may require a Certified Arborist evaluation before the owner makes a final decision.

That distinction matters in Narragansett, where established trees can provide shade and screening around properties that may otherwise be relatively exposed.

When the tree is dead, unstable, severely compromised or cannot reasonably remain in its location, removal becomes the practical option.

What if the Tree Is Near the Street?

A tree near the edge of a Narragansett property deserves an extra check before work is scheduled.

The Town of Narragansett regulates work involving street trees and requires a permit for planting, pruning, removing, cutting or otherwise disturbing a street tree. Work within the public right-of-way can also be subject to town requirements.

That does not mean every tree near a road is a town tree.

Ownership and location matter. If there is a question about whether a tree falls within the street-tree or right-of-way rules, that should be clarified before removal begins.

Trees entirely on private property are a different situation, but utility conflicts and the work area still need to be considered.

When There Is Not Much Room to Work

Limited space can be as important as tree size.

A large tree on a compact property may require careful handling of branches and trunk sections because there is little open ground around it. Driveway width, fences, structures, neighboring lots and landscaping can also affect where equipment can go and how material leaves the site.

AllScapes evaluates:

  • Tree size and condition
  • Available access
  • Space around the tree
  • Nearby buildings
  • Neighboring property
  • Utility conflicts
  • Branch and wood handling
  • Stump access
  • Cleanup requirements

These conditions are considered during the estimate rather than assuming every tree can be approached the same way.

What Happens to the Stump?

The stump does not automatically disappear when the tree is removed.

On a smaller Narragansett property, leaving a stump can take up usable yard space or interfere with mowing, landscaping, a walkway or future plans for the area.

AllScapes provides Stump Grinding and Removal when stump work is appropriate after removal.

The estimate should identify whether stump grinding is included in the project or quoted separately.

What to Expect From a Tree Removal Estimate

1. Tell Us What Is Happening

Let us know where the tree is located and what has you concerned, including recent storm damage when relevant.

2. We Evaluate the Tree and Site

We look at tree condition, structures, access, utilities and the available work area.

3. Determine What Work Is Appropriate

If removal is warranted, the scope is based on the tree and conditions at the property.

4. Review the Estimate

The estimate should identify the proposed work, cleanup, material handling and stump work where applicable.

5. Complete the Approved Removal

The crew performs the agreed work using an approach appropriate for the tree and site.

What Does Tree Removal Cost in Narragansett?

Tree-removal cost depends on more than height.

A mature tree with good equipment access and open space around it can be a different project from a smaller tree positioned between a house, neighboring property and utility lines.

Pricing can be affected by:

  • Tree height and trunk size
  • Tree condition
  • Storm damage
  • Proximity to structures
  • Available work space
  • Equipment access
  • Utility conflicts
  • Branch and wood handling
  • Cleanup
  • Stump grinding
  • Overall complexity

AllScapes provides free tree-removal estimates in Narragansett so the price can be based on the tree and actual site conditions.
